Course Syllabus : Basic knowledge of refrigeration, modified vapor compression refrigeration cycles, compressor, evaporator, condenser, chiller, cooling tower, refrigerant control valves, refrigerant and their properties, absorption refrigeration, calculation of cooling load, freezing of foods, air conditioning, fan and duct sizing, pump and pipe sizing, thermal system design

The Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics course covers the basic principles and concepts needed to understand fluid behavior in engineering contexts. Key topics include fluid properties, fluid statics, and fluid dynamics. Students will explore the conservation laws of mass, momentum, and energy, as applied to fluid flow, both in theoretical and practical settings. The course will also introduce dimensional analysis and similarity, flow in pipes and channels, and an overview of boundary layer concepts. Through lectures, laboratory experiments, and problem-solving sessions, students will develop the skills to analyze and solve real-world engineering problems involving fluids. The course includes assessments in the form of exams, quizzes, and project work.
